Day 1: Old Town Icons and Modern Twists
Begin your Prague adventure in Old Town Square, where the Astronomical Clock ⏰ on the Old Town Hall draws crowds hourly with its mechanical procession of apostles. From here, admire the towering twin spires of the Church of Our Lady before Týn, which dominate the skyline like something out of a Gothic fairy tale.
Take a short walk to St. Nicholas Church, a Baroque masterpiece with a stunning interior and occasional classical concerts. Then venture to the Municipal Library of Prague, famous for its hypnotic tunnel of books, an Instagram favourite.
From historic to modern, head over to the Dancing House 🏢, nicknamed "Fred and Ginger" for its unique, fluid architecture. Snap some photos before continuing to the Franz Kafka – Rotating Head, a mesmerizing kinetic sculpture honouring the city’s most enigmatic literary figure.
End your day by passing under the imposing Powder Tower, one of Prague’s original city gates, and imagine knights and merchants once entering the city beneath its dark Gothic arches.
Day 2: Lesser Town Legends and Castle Views
Start your morning with colour and whimsy at the Lennon Wall 🎨, a symbol of peace, freedom, and artistic rebellion. Just around the corner is Prague's narrowest alley, where a traffic light controls pedestrian flow, yes, it's that tight!
Continue the quirky theme with the cheeky Čůrající postavy (Peeing Statues) by David Černý, proof that Prague embraces both grandeur and humour.
Cross into Malá Strana (Lesser Town), home to cobbled streets, hidden gardens, and the majestic Prague Castle 🏰. Explore Golden Lane, a tiny, fairy-tale-like street once inhabited by castle guards and alchemists. Don’t miss Socha svatého Jana Nepomuckého, a famous statue on Charles Bridge, rub the plaque beneath it for good luck.
As the sun sets, stroll across Charles Bridge, watching street musicians and artists as the Vltava River glows beneath your feet. It’s Prague at its most poetic.
Day 3: Jewish Heritage and Haunting History
Day three is dedicated to the Jewish Quarter (Josefov), a deeply moving part of Prague’s history. Start at the Pinkas Synagogue, where names of Holocaust victims are etched onto the walls, followed by the Old-New Synagogue, Europe’s oldest active synagogue.
Visit the Jerusalem Synagogue, a striking example of Moorish Revival architecture, before delving into the broader Židovské muzeum v Praze (Jewish Museum in Prague), which preserves centuries of Jewish history.
Pay homage to Kafka again at the Statue of Franz Kafka, a surreal tribute to his legacy. Then visit the ornate Spanish Synagogue, known for its rich interiors and musical performances.
Explore the chilling exhibits at the Museum of Torture and Torture Instruments, a small but intense stop, then walk through the hauntingly beautiful Old Jewish Cemetery, with its crowded, centuries-old tombstones.
Wrap up your time in Prague with a visit to Madame Tussauds Prague, where you can snap fun selfies with historic figures and pop culture icons, an unexpectedly light-hearted finish to a deeply meaningful day.
