Iâve visited over 40 countries, but Copenhagen is my favorite city Iâve ever been to! Itâs safe, clean, efficient, environmentally conscious, and a culinary hub of flavors from around the world.

Renting bikes is the easiest way to get between many places in Copenhagen (though the metro is great too for longer rides). I recommend downloading the Donkey Republic app to quickly rent bikes around the city. Use code 973C34 for a free ride.

For a couple visiting Copenhagen, the best place to stay has got to be this incredible Airbnb on the top floor of the iconic Nyhavn 17 building. It has been recently renovated by the owner with immaculate details and great care put into the space. Plus, the location is super convenient for getting to all the top sites of the city.
Day 1
After you arrive in Copenhagen, check into your accommodation (or drop your bags if youâre early) and then head to Broens Street Food market, where thereâs tons of vendors to choose from. I recommend Gasoline Grill for one of the best burgers of your life đ
Youâve probably had a long travel day, so relax at Hot Tub Copenhagen in a private hot tub overlooking the water. Thereâs also a cold plunge if you want a refreshing dip. If thatâs not enough, the company behind Hot Tub Copenhagen also runs BungyJump Copenhagen on the same property đ
End the day at another food market: Reffen. Made of old shipping containers, thereâs more variety of foods than Iâve ever seen in 1 place, from classic mac & cheese to Kurdish and Nepalese cuisine!
Day 2
Start the day off with a delicious breakfast a GRĂD and then take the train to Kronborg Castle, which is castle where Shakespeareâs Hamlet takes place. Itâs a UNESCO World Heritage Site and dates back to the 1420s. The tour is excellent and very fun!
After you make your way back to Copenhagen, join a food tour by bicycle with City Bike Adventures! This is a great way to see the city, try a wide variety of food, and get familiar with biking around so youâll be confident enough to do so on your own. Book here: https://viator.tpx.lt/rurN44yF

Day 3
Make sure to stop by Sankt Peders Bageri for a cinnamon bun. Itâs the oldest bakery in Copenhagen and while they serve delicious goods every day, on Wednesdays they have special âWednesday snailâ cinnamon rolls.
From there, hop on the train across the water to MalmĂś, Sweden đ¸đŞ for a fun day trip. Just like in Copenhagen, you can rent bikes to see the sights. The boat tour of the city is also a great way to see MalmĂś. If youâre brave, be sure to check out the Disgusting Food Museum!

Day 4
Day 4 is a bit of miscellaneous quick stops. Visit the Round Tower, which survived the attacks of WWII. Then climb the exposed staircase of the steeple of Church of Our Saviour (if youâre afraid of heights, this one might not be for you).
If the weather is nice, join the locals for a swim at a public swimming area along the canal. Islands Brygge Havnepark is great and features a diving platform. Bring a swimsuit and towel and expect the water to be cold no matter what time of year!
Wrap up the day by renting a Go Boat and exploring the canals on your own. These small electric boats go slow, so you 1) donât risk hurting yourself or anyone else and 2) gives you the time to really soak up this beautiful city from the water.

Day 5
Start your day off with a trip to Christiansborg Palace. Once home to the Danish Royal Family, it is now the house of parliament in Denmark.
If the weather allows, you can rent a kayak for free in exchange for picking up trash on your route. Thereâs several locations throughout the city, so check out the Green Kayak app to make a reservation.
End your time in Copenhagen with a trip to Tivoli Gardens, an amusement park right in the heart of the city, but itâs also so much more than that. The rides are awesome, but thereâs plenty more to do and see in the park, including lots of restaurants.
