Day 1: Monterosso to Vernazza

Begin in Monterosso al Mare, the largest of the five villages. Head to Statua del Gigante, a dramatic cliffside sculpture watching over Fegina Beach. From there, grab a creamy scoop at Gelateria La Scogliera, just steps from the sea, and enjoy it with your toes in the sand at Monterosso Fegina Beach, the region’s most spacious and lively stretch of shoreline.

Wander into the old town and visit Parrocchia di San Giovanni Battista, a striking 13th-century church with a striped marble façade and rose window. Then lace up your walking shoes for the Sentiero Monterosso–Vernazza, the scenic cliffside trail that rewards you with breathtaking views of vineyards, the Mediterranean, and charming rooftops as you hike to Vernazza.

Once you arrive, stop at the Church of St. Margaret of Antioch, perched elegantly over the sea. Stroll through the vibrant harbour at the Port of Vernazza, then climb to Doria Castle for sweeping views over the village and coastline. Cool off with a dip at Vernazza Beach, a small but scenic cove tucked between buildings. End the day with dinner at Burgus, a nice spot known for fresh seafood, pasta, and stunning harbour views.

Day 2: Corniglia, Manarola & Riomaggiore

Start your day in Corniglia, the quietest and most elevated village, offering panoramic views with fewer crowds. Grab a refreshing treat at Gelateria Alberto, famous for its basil and lemon sorbets made from local ingredients.

Next, head to Manarola for postcard views from its famous scenic overlook. From there, walk to Nessun Dorma, a clifftop wine bar with bruschetta, spritzes, and unforgettable views of the colourful village spilling into the sea.

Wrap up the day in Riomaggiore. Relax on Riomaggiore Beach, a rocky but picturesque spot ideal for sunset swims and peaceful reflection. Before leaving, grab one last sweet treat from Gelateria Sottozero, the perfect end to a perfect day.
